State of the Union 2011
I think that president Obama did very well at the state of the union. He had a very good agenda, and was very encouraging throughout his speech. I also liked how he started his speech talking about the terrible shooting in Tucson. Then during his speech Obama made several key points about education, jobs and the economy, and also about technology and innovation.
I agreed with his new approach to education as he wanted to get rid of no child left behind and create Race to the Top. I believe that this new program can really help Americans as they will be exposed to new ways of teaching and better standards. Another key point that Obama made was about the economy, in his speech he acknowledges that the economy isn’t doing so well and unemployment rates aren’t getting any better. He sets out a plan to help more Americans get jobs and make our economy better.
The third point is about technology and throughout president Obama’s he talks about clean energy technology and biomedical technology. He states that the engineers of our time could create something great and they could solve the hardest problems about clean energy. He says that we need to get behind this innovation. President Obama says some very powerful things during this speech and really gets Americas moral higher. He’s looking for good things in the future and so should the people.
