Gun god: The House pays homage by blessing a lethal bill

Discussion Questions:
What would you describe as the optimal place and situation to exercise gun rights?
Would you think that this bill be passed and if so, will it be brought up in other states as well?
How does this bill stop criminals from “acting out in self-defense”? Does the Brady Bill correlate to this?

  1. 1. I believe if one is truly threatened, or is held at gun-point from another individual in the safety of their own home, then they may need to exercise these rights.

2 I do think that this bill will be passed only because gun rights have been around for centuries, and many still believe that enabling the usage of guns is acceptable. It most likely would spur thoughts in other states as well, as thoughts on gun usage is mostly nation-wide.

    3. It stops criminals from this because they may be sued. The Brady Bill correlates as they both contribute to the rights of handling guns, and the rights that go along with that as well.

  2. The optimal place to excercise gun rights would be in designated hunting areas. If there were places like that, then those who used guns for sport could do so, and those who wanted to use it for nerfarious deeds couldn't. Problem solved.

For Pennsylvania? It seems like a logical law, since it's much more rural than other northern states, just behind New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. People in rural areas probably need less strict gun control, and those in urban areas need more of it, so states with plenty of rural area may or might or might not pass it.

The bill would only stop criminals from acting out in self-defense if they happened to be on the person's property, commiting a crime, and if this could proven. If this couldn't be proven, then criminals could get away with commiting crimes with impunity. This doesn't really relate to the Brady Bill, though, since it has little to do with getting background checks for owning guns.

  3. If one was in danger of being injured or killed i think that is the only time when a person can exercise this right

I think that rural states may pass this law because the local police is often far away for citizens to be protected. States that have high crime for example Florida would also benefit from this law.

This protects the people from criminals and the brady bill correlates to this because the brady bill decides who gets a gun and this law decides how one can use it

  4. 1. The optimal place and situation to exercise gun rights would be when the person is in a life or death situation and has control over raw emotions like anger. If a person fires a gun for someone intruding their property without intent for harm, then the use of a gun has become both unnecessary and irrational, therfore an inappropriate use of gun rights.

    2. While the law is highly reasonable in many cases, the law will be passed for states in which crime rate is constantly low due to proper accordance with the law. In other states, however, the law may not catch on where crime is a top problem and guns are used in bad fashion because this will only increase gun tension.

    3. This law if passed would protect people if proven innocent from criminals. It would be a long battle though and large amounts of evidence would be needed. It correlates with the Brady Bill because they both deal with guns and the who gets them and when they are allowed to use them.

  5. 1. It is good to feel safe, and people would feel even greater safety when they know they have a gun on them. A ordinary citizen proubably wouldnt know when to use the gun. I feel only when in danger we should use it. But we must teach people when to use a gun at the right time.

    2. It should BUT only in the states that want it. Urban places would need stricter gun control cause there is a danger in someone who has a gun. But like on the west, not so much people, means that there doesnt need to be such stricter gun control.

    3. A person would think twice if they know that they will be sued ALOT for some action that they will commit. The Brady Bill gives background checks on the pottential buyer before he purchases the gun. They both have to do with gun and strict gun controll.
