Article 1 Title: BP Cost-Cutting was a Culture, not a Set of Rules

This article demonstrates a watchdog function of the media because it is a reporter who went out and looked up information on BP and the oil spill and saw that BP was not following the EPAs standards. Plus she showed that BP know about the faulty pip but just chioce to not fix it. That is why I think this is a watchdog article.

Article 2 Title: The Tea Party: Ready to Rumble

The United States has a two party systme which is made up of the Democrats and the Republicans. But what if a third party would enter the game, the Tear Party. It is a rapidly growing party that i think will turn into a new party altogether. I also would have never know about it if it was not for this article, which is why this article is a gatekeeper article.

Article 3 Title: Alaska Tally Shows Murkowski with 1,706 Vote Lead

This is a scorekeeper article because it is talking about the 2010 elections.
In the article the candidate Murkowski has a huge 1,706 lead over her opponent. The total votes for her is 92,164 while her opponent only has 90,458. And it goes on to talk more about the election figures which is why this articel is a scorekeeper because it has to do with numbers.
